7 Spots to Find the Best Autumn Pies in D.C.

Table of Contents

The air is getting cooler and we’re beginning to dream about all of our favorite Autumn delights—cozy sweaters, wrapping up in soft blankets, crisp autumn air, warm cups of our favorite drinks, and America’s most treasured dessert…pie.

Sweet pie, savory pie, pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, double crust apple cream pie, award winning pies…buttery crusts…our pie dream list could go on for days…

There is something magic about autumn pie. Something almost romantic about slow conversation and pie with someone you love…it’s meant to be savored…taken in slowly. It creates a memory.

Whether you prefer your pie on the dinner table surrounded by friends and family, in your autumn picnic basket, with a scoop of ice cream, or solo with a cup of coffee—we’re sharing our 7 spots to find the best autumn pies in D.C.

No matter if pie is your favorite dessert or a rare treat—we’ve got you covered. Take a look at the best places to buy pie in the DC area.

Firehook Bakery

Firehook Bakery has some of the most delicious treats in town. Aside from serving up cakes, pastries, artisanal breads, small bites, and coffee, Firehook in Dupont Circle also bakes up delicious pies and tarts.

We love their honeycrisp apple pie made with regionally sourced honey crisp apples and topped with a crumb crust, which in our opinion, is a delicious step up from traditional apple pie.

Their pie and tart offerings rotate and include flavors like pecan pie, passion fruit meringue tart, bittersweet chocolate tart, banana cream tart, key lime tart, classic apple, and a fresh fruit tart with a mouth-watering, creamy vanilla custard.

Pre-order one of their gorgeous pies or tarts on their website for pick-up or delivery, or stop in Firehook Bakery for an afternoon treat in Dupont Circle at 1909 Q Street, NW Washington, DC 20009.
