1. Take a Bike Ride Around East Potomac Park 

If you’re looking for some healthy and active date ideas to do this spring in D.C., a bike ride may be just the thing for you and your sweetheart. 

If you ride Mt. Vernon Trail over the George Washington Memorial Bridge to East Potomac Park, you will not only take in fantastic views of the city, but it’s also a great way to catch some spectacular views of the cherry blossoms

The Hains Point Loop Trail is a 4.1-mile loop around the East Potomac Park that offers breathtaking views of the Washington Channel, the Potomac River, and the Anacostia River. 

2. Twilight Paddle on the Potomac River 

Paddling the Potomac River by kayak or canoe in the twilight hour is not only an awesome active date activity, but the beauty of the peaceful skyline just before, during, and after sunset turns the whole activity into something more romantic and even a little magical.

3. Craft Cocktails on the Clocktower Course at Swingers

Mini golf is always a good spring date idea in D.C. and Swingers has it all. 

Swingers refers to itself as a 1920’s English golf clubhouse. Pair that with craft cocktails and gourmet street food and we’re sold!

4. National Cherry Blossom Festival

From live performances on stage at the Tidal Basin to the annual Blossom Kite Festival, to Petalpalooza fireworks—the annual  National Cherry Blossom Festival always has a ton of merrymaking events to choose from for a perfect spring date. 

D.C.’s Cherry Blossoms are as romantic as it gets. So take your date for a walk to view the blossoms in bloom, have a picnic in the park, or attend one of the many Cherry Blossom Festival events planned this year.
