Finding Your Closest Subway Station
Conveniently, residents of Parkwest Apartments in Woodley Park can use both the Woodley Park and Cleveland Park Metro stations. From there, you can access the Red Line which can take you to westbound towards Bethesda or east for access to the Blue and Orange Lines.
Woodley Park-Zoo Metro Station is located at 2700 Connecticut Ave NW and has several bus stops nearby. Starting from Parkwest Apartments, a seven-minute walk down Connecticut Ave NW will bring you to the station entrance.
Alternatively, residents can use Cleveland Park Station, which is about a 12-minute walk from Parkwest Apartments. Cleveland Park Station has two entrances on opposite sides of Connecticut Ave NW.
Thomas Circle to Downtown DC
If you’re looking to go downtown, it is just a 10-minute walk down Vermont Ave. For those heading to work, head down Massachusetts Ave towards Scott Circle, and you’ll find many of the International Embassies.

For Georgetown University students and faculty, your commute from Thomas Circle takes between 30 to 35 minutes.
While there a few ways to get there from Thomas Circle, taking the GT-US bus from the stop on K St and 14th St NW is the most straightforward. Ride the bus to Wisconsin Ave NW and Dumbarton St NW and a short 10-minute walk to the university completes your commute.
Alternatively, you can make use of the Georgetown University bus (GUTS), which is free for faculty and students. You can hop on at the Dupont Circle stop.
Thomas Circle to Bethesda
While commuting to the Medical Center may take a little longer, the route is fairly straightforward. After walking 10 minutes to Farragut North Station, take the Red Line train towards Shady Grove and get off at the Medical Center Station.
Once there, you have another 10-minute walk to get to the Medical Center. Your whole commute should take less than an hour to complete.
If you work elsewhere in Bethesda, you can get off the train at the Bethesda stop and finish your commute from there.

No matter how you chose to adventure around the National’s Capital remember that there are options other than the metro and bus.
Take a ride down the streets of the city on a Uber, Lyft, or Lime scooter. Always remember to be vigilant when on a scooter. You are not allowed to use the scooters on sidewalks, so you will be hoping on the road on your two-wheeler, and it’s a lot of fun. Wear a helmet or bright clothing if you can.
