Step Back In Time At The Pierce Mill

Hang out at the historic Pierce Mill, where you can step back in time and see what it might be like to live and work in DC in the 19th century!

Back in its hay day, the mill could grind up to 70 bushels of wheat in a day! After the mill was no longer used as a grain production space, it became a public teahouse until it was closed in the 1930s.

The mill was restored in the late 1990s, and today is a great place for visitors to stop by to learn about early industrial DC. If you stop by on the second Saturday of the month, you can even watch a live demonstration of the mill an action.
